When learning is fun, knowledge is accelerated

Preschool

2–3-Year-Old Class:

Our Preschool Program provides attentive care for every student while introducing them to Mandarin and Spanish. Play and language-based lessons including indoor and outdoor activities foster growth in all developmental domains including cognitive, language, fine and gross motor, and social-emotional growth and self-help skills.

More specifically, the Preschool curriculum involves the six developmental domains: physical (gross and fine motor), creativity, social, emotional, cognitive, and language. RSI’s structured lessons provide opportunities for children to achieve developmental milestones and growth throughout the school year. We also focus on social-emotional learning from an early age which builds empathy in students, allowing them to practice “real-world” coping mechanisms needed to thrive in all areas of life. This program is separated into two classes. Students 2-3 years have a class ratio of 12 to 1. Students do not need to be potty trained to enter the 2-year-old classroom.

3-4- & 4-5-Year Class:

As part of our commitment to promoting lifelong learning, our Preschool Program brings fun into the learning experience! To bolster language learning, we foster play learning, lessons are structured around a designed curriculum specialized for each preschool level and curriculum-based learning includes quarterly testing to support student growth. The result is a program that promotes leadership skills and builds students’ social-emotional needs by teaching empathy and coping mechanisms.

In the first year of preschool, children learn to identify letters, sounds, and numbers in English. During Spanish and Mandarin classes students learn basic greetings, colors, numbers, animals, and other curriculum-specific vocabulary. In the second year, the preschool program reviews and expands students’ vocabulary in all three languages. Students learn how to write letters and read in English and Spanish and to read and identify Mandarin characters. Preschool classes have a 12:1 ratio, and students should be potty-trained before entering the program.
