Srta. Arciniega is currently working on completing her Associate of Arts degree at Santa Ana College and will be transferring to California State University of Fullerton in the near future. Srta. Arciniega has completed two internships in the district of Anaheim and has worked with children ever since she was in high school. Her passion is to support the success of children and families through early childhood education as well as being an advocate for those who do not have a voice. She is a proud mother of two beautiful girls and loves going to the beach, reading, and exploring new places with her family.

Ms. Arnold graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a major in Liberal Studies, specifically with an emphasis in Child Psychology. Currently she is in the process of completing her Masters of Education at Hope International University. Ms. Arnold has been blessed to work in numerous classrooms, ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. For the last two years, she worked as a fifth grade teacher in Fullerton, California. Student growth and imparting education based on a student's individual abilities, has become her passion. In her free time, Ms. Arnold enjoys reading psychology-based books, finding new local eateries, and spending time with her family and friends.

Sra. Burket, L5 & L60 Spanish Teacher
Sra. Burket was born and raised in Lima, Peru. Studying at Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón, in the La Molina District, Peru, she received a bachelor's degree in Education and her Professional Title of Licentiate in Special Education. She completed a Post Graduate International Teaching course in Havana, Cuba. Sra. Burket likes being a part of the children’s lives as they go through their early learning period. She enjoys spending time with her daughters and visiting her relatives and friends in Florida and Peru.

Chen Laoshi, L5 Chinese & MathTeacher
Chen Laoshi has been an English teacher in China for seven years, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in International Trade. She then acquired her Montessori preschool teacher credential in the U.S. She has been working in a Motessori preschool for four years. Chen Laoshi also created and built the first Chinese immersion program in a preschool. She believes that every child has the ability to learn if given the opportunity, and ensures that she gives each child her best. In her spare time Chen Laoshi enjoys traveling and spending time with her kids.
Mr. Chow, Physical Education Instructor
Mr. Chow attended California State University in both Los Angeles and Long Beach. He has worked much of his career as a Graphic Designer. He has also held numerous positions, such as Teacher's Aide, English Conversation Instructor, and Substitute Teacher in the Santa Ana and Tustin School Districts. Currently, he is the Education Center Director at the Boys and Girls Club in Tustin. Mr. Chow loves to teach about the importance of exercise and character building. Some of his hobbies are music, comic books, and yard sales.

Mrs. Cox, L60 & L70 English / History Teacher
Mrs. Kerrigan-Cox has taught English literature, grammar, and writing to high school students and to international students studying in the Intensive English Program at the University of California Irvine Extension. Mrs. Cox completed a double major at Stanford University, receiving her bachelor’s degree with distinction in English and Human Biology. She also holds a master’s degree in Education from Stanford University and a California Secondary Teaching Credential. As the mother of three elementary age children, Mrs. Cox is keenly interested in early childhood and elementary education. She loves reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Mrs. Flournoy, L4 & L5 English Teacher
Mrs. Flournoy is a “third culture kid.” She was born in Brazil, and at age five her family became missionairies and moved to Mozambique. From her experiences here and abroad, she has seen how a nurturing and safe environment can encourage children to reach their full potential. Mrs. Flournoy received her Associate of Arts degree from Orange Coast College with an emphasis in Communication. She has since continued to study early childhood development to pursue a career as a preschool teacher. Mrs. Flournoy is passionate about making a difference in the lives of the next generation. She enjoys incorporating art and music in the classroom, and encourages children to use their imaginations in all aspects of learning.

Ms. Gallardo, L20, L30, L40, & L50 English / History Teacher
Ms. Gallardo graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a major in English with highest honors and a minor in Chicana/o Studies. Her passion for education and belief in the potential of all students has led her down the pathway of elementary education. Ms. Gallardo hopes to nourish a profound love of learning in her students. Throughout her years at UCLA, she was involved in a variety of human rights and education organizations and committed countless hours to English tutoring. In her free time, Ms. Gallardo loves to read and spend time with her family.

Gao Laoshi received her master's degree in Teaching Second Language from the University of Southern California. Born and raised in a family of teachers, she always knew she wanted to teach. Her passion and curiosity of languages lead her to become a Chinese teacher. She believes in the power of acquiring second languages at a young age, and that a strong education has the power to change lives. Gao Laoshi loves traveling to new places and experiencing the local culture and cuisine.

He Laoshi achieved her Master of Science degree in Special Education from California State University of Fullerton. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Nevada in Early Childhood Education. He Laoshi has worked with young children for almost eight years. Her mission is to provide a rich and high quality education to children from all backgrounds and walks of life. She believes that all children can excel. He Laoshi enjoys organizing and loves running and riding bicycles with her family.

Mr. Hernandez graduated from the University of California Irvine with a major in Mechanical Engineering. His love for math and science led him to work on a variety of projects including combustion, thermodynamics, and optical diagnostics using laser spectroscopy. During college, he was involved in several courses on education that inspired him to teach preschool students. Mr. Hernandez is fluent in Spanish and loves to help students learn. He enjoys walking, running, reading, hiking, salsa dancing, and traveling. His future goals include pursuing a master's degree and PhD in Engineering/Education.

Mrs. Mizera, Executive Director
Mrs. Mizera brings a blend of business acumen and a passion for education excellence to the Renascence School International. She was educated in the U.S. and China and received a Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Irvine. In addition to working in the investment management field, she is a past President of the Orange County Chinese American Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Mizera believes learning is fun and is passionate about providing Orange County children with an education option that combines advanced academics and foreign language learning.

Mr. Mizera has a background in business, finance and fundraising. He has degrees from the Talbot School of Theology and Biola University. Before joining Renascence School International Orange County, he served as Executive Vice President of China Source, a non-profit company that assists organizations with work in China. Mr. Mizera has experience teaching advanced students as well as students needing remediation. Mr. Mizera believes that schools that offer advanced academics and an international perspective are the wave of the future.

Pang Laoshi, L30, L40, L50 & L60 Chinese Teacher
Pang Laoshi received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from Shandong University in China. He has been in business with Europe for two decades, and received his Post Graduate degree in Business Management from the University of Foreign Economy and Trade in Beijing. After transferring to the teaching field, he received certification to be a Senior Grade Chinese Language Teacher from IPA in Utah. Pang Laoshi loves to teach the Chinese language and culture and enjoys Chinese Taichi martial arts and calligraphy.

Ms. Rayburn brings over a decade of academic leadership and classroom experience to her role at RSI. Throughout her time working in education, she has developed a passion for the elementary age group, especially those with special needs. Ms. Rayburn has worked alongside leading educators in her role as Teaching Assistant for a college human anatomy lab as well as for a biological psychology course. Her select achievements include graduating from California State University Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. At RSI, she is one of the first points of contact for prospective families.

Sra. Sanz, L10, L20, L30, L40, & L50 Spanish Teacher
Sra. Sanz, a native of Spain, has a bachelor´s degree in Childhood and Elementary Education from the University Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid. Her emphasis is in Special Education and she has a master´s degree in Journalism. She has been working in kinder and elementary classrooms as a Spanish and Spanish as a second language teacher and enjoys being part of the children's lives as they learn and grow. Sra. Sanz believes in trying to make learning fun and meaningful for her students. In her free time she loves to travel.

Tan Laoshi received her master's degree in teaching from the University of Southern California. She sees herself as an agent of change in the education field. She believes that everyone can afford to dream, and that a high quality education helps dreams come true. Her goal is to brighten the light that shines from within her students, and guide them to reach their full potential. Tan Laoshi's greatest pleasure as a teache, is to watch the students grow and develop. Tan Laoshi enjoys literature, fine art, Chinese Regimen, linguistics, philosophy, psychology and world music. During her free time, she also loves traveling, writing, hiking and photography.

Tang Laoshi, L20 & L30 Math & Science Teacher / L20 Chinese Teacher
Tang Laoshi was born in China. She received her medical doctor degree from China's Capital Institute of Medicine, and worked in Beijing Children's Hospital as a pediatrician. After moving to the U.S. in 1987, she received a Master of Science degree in biology from Eastern Michigan University. She worked in the university as a biology research lab manager. Tang Laoshi then pursued her interest in computer science, where she worked as a software developer. In recent years, she was involved in community services, helping kids learn Chinese and math, and working to improve the mental and physical health and well-being of children.  
Mrs. Torjesen, Preschool Director
Mrs. Torjesen has a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and has been in the field of education for more than a decade. While working as an early childhood instructor and education manager in China for almost a decade, she discovered her passion was working with very young children. As a result, she went back to school and studied early childhood theories and principles as well as administration of early childhood programs. Ms. Torjesen is fluent in five different languages and enjoys a variety of sports and hobbies such as rock climbing, swimming, quilting, knitting, singing, cooking, and baking.

Wu Laoshi, L10 Math Teacher / L10 P.E. Teacher
Wu Laoshi earned a B.A. in Computer Science from CCU, Taiwan. She also earned a master degree in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering as well as a Teaching Certificate from NCU, Taiwan.  Wu Laoshi also earned both a B.A. in Chinese and English Language and Literature from TKU, Taiwan. Wu Laoshi is a U.S. licensed Physician of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with several years in private practice and more than five years at a University teaching TCM. Wu Laoshi brings fourteen years of experience as a full-time Taiwan licensed teacher.  Her student-centered teaching philosophy focuses on the whole child and the development of a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

Xiong Laoshi earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese Literature and Education from Sichuan Normal University in China. She pursued her post bachelor study at California State University Long Beach, where she received a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Chinese. Xiong Laoshi enjoys teaching Chinese to students of all different levels and backgrounds. Years of teaching experience has developed in her a love for helping students find their inner strength and embrace their full potential.

Zhang Laoshi, L40, L50, L60, & L70 Math Teacher / L70 Chinese Teacher
Zhang Laoshi achieved her Ph.D. in Microbiology in 2004 from the Chinese Academy of Science. Employed as a lecturer and researcher in Liaoning Normal University, she was invited to participate in different research projects that cooperated with the University of Tokyo and Ghent University. After moving to the U.S. she dedicated herself to teaching Chinese at different education facilities. Zhang Laoshi is an experienced Chinese teacher with a strong science background, who feels passionate in helping her students achieve their full potential.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her three lovely children and world travel.
