The Moon Festival (also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival) is an official Chinese holiday. It is a time of joy and happiness as many Chinese people gather with family and celebrate a time when the moon is at its fullest and brightest of the whole year.
Renascence School International students celebrated this special time of year during their Chinese classes last Friday. Teachers and parents came together to tell the children about the Chinese holiday and share stories of ancient Chinese legends.
Students enjoyed eating delicious, traditional moon cakes and participating in activities related to the moon celebration. Some of the classes even made their own Mochi! Students, teachers and parents all had a wonderful time sharing treats, stories and learning more about the Chinese culture.
