RSI Staff enjoying quality time together!

The Renascence School International had a staff development day in January. It has become a tradition to spend the first half of the day on training and the second half at a luncheon and white elephant gift exchange. This training focused on “The Leader in Me” and some operational items. For the luncheon, RSI likes to rotate between cuisine from the three cultures whose languages are taught at RSI, English, Chinese, and Spanish. This year’s rotation was Descanso Mexican restaurant. Tis the season of giving!

The Renascence School International has a tradition of students and teachers decorating Christmas trees for their classrooms. RSI is very thankful for all the parent volunteers who were a big part of the RSI global Christmas tree decorating. However, once school is out for the holidays, what happens to these trees? RSI gives them away to military families who may not have the resources or time to have a Christmas tree. They come by with a truck to pick up the trees and take pictures with RSI PTO leadership. The new RSI L2 preschool program

The Renascence School International is excited to offer a new program this year! This is a program for students who are 12 months – 24 months old (L2). The program follows a weekly lesson plan and organized activities which meet certain milestones and plan according to six different developmental domains (cogntive, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language development, social development, and sensory development). All in a game of chess!

At the Renascence School International, students enjoyed academic chess class during the first quarter of the 2018/19 school year. This class occurred once or twice a week, teaching the fundamentals and strategies of the game.
