Celebrating the Chinese Moon Festival!

Renascence School International celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival, also called the Chinese Moon Festival. This official holiday is a time of joy and happiness as many Chinese people gather with family and celebrate a time when the moon is at its fullest and brightest of the whole year. As part of the holiday tradition, the students made crafts in honor of this special Chinese holiday. RSI celebrated this special time of year during their Chinese classes last Monday. Students enjoyed making the traditional Chinese lanterns and learning all about the Chinese culture and ancient Chinese legends. Read More

新年快乐 RSI families come together to celebrate the Chinese New Year

新年快乐 Happy New Year! The Chinese New Year is almost here! Officially beginning on February 16th, 2018 and ending on March 2nd, this holiday is also called the Spring Festival, or the Lunar New Year. RSI students succeed at the NATIONAL CHINESE – Math | Science | Art – Competition in Utah

The Renascence School International is so proud of the five students who traveled to Utah to compete in a Chinese language immersion competition this weekend. The students are, Denes Garda, Kai Thysell Quintanilla, Kahlen Burrus, Alden Morales, and Bianca Batoni. This was the first time that RSI has participated in the NATIONAL CHINESE – Math, Science, Art – Competition and the students had only a short time to get used to the competition format. RSI students deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and history at the Bowers Museum

The Renascence School International students, level C6 and above, went on a field trip to the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art in Santa Ana. Current exhibitions include: Ancient Arts of China – A 5000 Year Legacy. This exhibit was curated by authorities of Chinese history and culture from the Shanghai Museum and portrays the evolution of Chinese art and culture. Read More

RSI students perform at the Irvine Global Village Festival

Renascence School International students were prepared and excited to perform on the main stage at the annual Irvine Global Village Festival on Saturday. The RSI Chinese Folk Dance class performed the “Chopstick Dance” and it was a beautiful example of the elegance and beauty of the Chinese culture.
