RSI Summer Camp “A Journey in Time” – Week 6

RSI summer camp “A Journey in Time” continues! Last week campers were traveling in time through the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Students started the week with a dress-up day as 80’s kids and ended the week creating their own pet rocks. What a blast the kids had at the freeze dance party during Sports Camp! In Spanish students learned about Flamenco dancing and Don Quixote. Elementary students also studied the works of Picasso. Preschool reviewed Chinese math and colors and enjoyed some hands on learning with fruit in Spanish class. Another great week at summer camp! Read More

RSI Summer Camp Session II – Let the fun begin!

RSI Summer Campers are once again on a journey, “A Journey in Time”! Session II has begun! Last week students were learning about the 1950’s and 1960’s and had two days to come to camp dressed up! During art enrichment students enjoyed making dream catchers. Elementary students delved into the civil rights movement, particularly learning about Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. Preschool students explored the Chinese and Spanish culture such as flags and food as well as special holidays such as Dia de los Reyes and Dia de los Muertos. Session I of RSI Summer Camp ends with a splash!

Session I of “A Journey in Time” RSI Summer Camp came to a close last Friday. RSI campers had lots of fun activities during week four including, learning to write calligraphy with a paint brush, and decorating summer visors during art enrichment. Preschool students had fun debuting their personal style in a fashion show, and everyone enjoyed seeing RSI staff come to school dressed in period costume from the 1900’s. The final day was spent enjoying bounce houses, water balloons, team olympics, and a time travel movie! Session II of “A Journey in Time” has just begun and RSI is looking forward to another great month of engaged learning in Chinese, Spanish, and English mixed in with tons of fun! Read More

RSI Campers journey back in time to the 16th – 18th Century during Week 3

Last week was all about the period of time between the 16th and 18th centuries! There was a lot of fun and learning going on at RSI last week. Campers made model ships after Christopher Columbus and endowed each other as British royalty! A highlight of last week was welcoming students visiting from the RSI sister school in China. Together, the students created short skits together! As this week closes out session I of summer camp, everyone is looking forward to Water Day this Friday, ending RSI Summer Camp Session I with a day of fun and lots of getting wet! Read More
