Field trips are a way for teachers to present knowledge to students in a whole new way and for the students to have fun while learning. This is a great way to introduce children to new environments while giving them a hands-on experience. On May 6, all the Renascence School International students were out exploring new things! The L4 and L5 students went to Tanaka Farm where they learned about farming and had fun touring the farm on a tractor trailer. The students picked strawberries, which they thoroughly enjoyed tasting and shared lunch together.

The L10, C6 and C7 classes had a different experience. Theirs was one of community service and exploring new art forms. What better way to teach kids about the gift of giving and community service than having them help with clean-up projects at their own school. The children cleaned the picnic tables, pulled weeds, and raked leaves. Afterwards they were treated to a pizza lunch and a very unique sand-art show. They saw beautiful examples of sand-art and watched as the artist made sand come alive before their eyes. They even had an opportunity to create a picture of themselves with the guidance of the artist. It was a day of learning and fun at the Renascence School International!

We all know Cinco de Mayo as a Latin American springtime festival, full of food, music and dance. What the Renascence School International students have learned about Cinco de Mayo goes way beyond that into the history behind this big event. First and second grade students researched and did write-ups on Cinco de Mayo. They also stood up in front of the class and gave their presentations, all in Spanish, on what they had learned about this very special holiday. Read More

In honor of teacher appreciation week, the Renascence School International (RSI) would like to recognize its outstanding educators. Teaching is a very rewarding profession but often carries with it many challenges. RSI wants to make sure that its teachers know that their hard work and dedication is appreciated.  RSI has high expectations for its teachers.  It has developed its own teacher certification and credentialing system. Children love to play in the dirt and watch things grow! The Renascence School International Orange County Campus gave students the opportunity to experience first hand what it means to grow your own food.The children were able to put into practice what they have been learning in Science class. The L10 students each took turns handling a task, such as holding plants, digging holes, planting and watering. The students planted tomatoes, Japanese cucumbers and corn.
